Sculpting in the Glass Eyes

I will be showing you how to
add glass eyes to your model
on this page. These are my
basic directions, you may have
a different approach with
different results :)

Here you can see I have
completely sanded off the eyes
and muzzle areas for
resculpting. I have also given
her just a bit of a concave nose
bone
(personal preference).

Add a small dab of Apoxie Sculpt (or whatever clay you use normally)
to the eye socket area, make sure at this point to position
your pupil at the right angle for the horse's position and
adjust the glass eye disc top and bottom and sides to be at
the correct angle, like the cornea of a real horse eye.

(Lots and lots of reference photos are invaluable here in any possible angle you
can find.)

I have started adding the shapes of the upper and lower lids and
muscles around the eye now. You can see it is starting to take
shape. Add any little wrinkles you want to, Make sure to sculpt
the upper eyelid, and refine the lashes now that the clay is
starting to firm up, it should hold detail better by now.

Make sure you leave room inside the front corner to paint in eye
whites and a little fleshy third eyelid part if you wish.

Please Note: The third Eyelid is NOT a red or pink dot! I see this
painted on many models, make sure to research the eyes!

On to Page 3
Sculpting the Muzzle
I am in no way trying to imply that I am perfect, A little self research
can take you a long way, try to get all the information and
reference photos you can.

I try to learn as much as I can every day  :)

Add a small piece of clay to the upper part and start to
form it in a half circle shape around the top of the eye.

Add a very small roll of clay for the lashes and make
little hairs...you can fine tune them later.

A very fine roll of clay is placed around the bottom and
then smoothed into the face under the eye area for the
lower lid.

Your results may turn out differently. This is only my personal basic guide to help you.
