Sculpting the Muzzle

I just start out with a glob of clay stuck on the nose.
Sometimes, you will need to completely cut off the
whole muzzle, chin and all if you are shortening the
face.

No detailing at this point, just make sure you have
enough clay on there, you can always remove the
excess as you go.

Here you can see I have put indentions approximately
where the nostrils will be, and I have  smoothed the
top of the nose down to blend with the face.

Here you can see a bit more detail after I played with the
shape a bit and added the inside skin.

Make sure you get your upper lip formed and smoothed
out, add any little wrinkles and lines now.

On to Page 4
the Body

I have formed the nostrils and removed the extra
clay from the sides and top, I have then formed the
upper lip, and started adding a bit of detail and
smoothed all the edges where the clay melds to the
face.

Make sure the nostrils are even on both sides and
from all other angles.

Have lots of reference photos to go by, nostrils can
be many different shapes and sizes.

Your results may turn out differently. This is only my personal basic guide to help you.
